Wood stove sizing guide
Measure your sauna room in feet and multiply length × width × height to get the volume in cubic feet. A 6 × 6 × 7 ft room, for example, is 252 cubic feet. Wood stoves are rated by the room volume they can heat:

Is a wood-burning stove right for my sauna?
Wood-burning stoves suit cottage, off-grid and outdoor saunas where you want the classic wood-fired experience. They need a chimney and regular feeding, and they heat a little slower than electric heaters.
What does a wood-burning sauna stove need to install?
A wood stove needs a properly rated chimney, safe clearances to walls and a non-combustible floor area. Always follow the manufacturer’s installation manual and your local building code. We can help you choose the right chimney kit.
What is a water tank stove?
Some Narvi stoves, such as the VS, VSE, VSO and VSV versions, include a water tank that heats water while the sauna warms, handy for washing in off-grid saunas.
What size wood stove do I need?
Multiply your room’s length, width and height in feet to get cubic feet, then compare it with the stove’s rated sauna size in the guide on this page. Glass, stone and log walls need a larger stove. We can recommend the right stove for your room.
Do I need sauna stones?
Yes. Sauna heaters and stoves need stones to store and release heat and create steam. We can include the right amount of stones for your heater in your quote.
