The Backyard Oasis: Bryan & Sarah Baeumler x The Muskoka Sauna Co.
Some projects feel like the perfect fit from the very first conversation, and our collaboration with Bryan and Sarah Baeumler was exactly that. When the Baeumlers set out to complete their Florida backyard oasis, they weren't just looking for a sauna. They were looking for a space. A place to reconnect, recover, and spend quiet moments surrounded by nature. Something that reflected their lifestyle and standards. Something lasting. As a fellow Canadian company deeply rooted in craftsmanship and the outdoors, The Muskoka Sauna Co. was proud to be that choice. How It Started: Shared Roots & Vision The Baeumlers, known across North America for their work in design and renovation, are no strangers to high standards. Their Florida property was a long-term passion project, built slowly, intentionally, with every detail chosen for beauty and function. They were looking for a sauna that felt the same. Something that honored their routines, their love for the outdoors, and their Canadian heritage. That's when the connection started. As two Canadian homegrown teams, it became clear quickly that we spoke the same language. Both of our teams believe in building things right the first time Both value clean design, natural materials, and lasting function And both believe that time spent outside, especially in stillness, is time best spent Bryan connected right away with our team's attention to detail and honest approach to design. As someone who's made a career of evaluating quality, his appreciation for our build process was immediate. Sarah was drawn to the wellness aspect, already envisioning her morning rituals, quiet resets, and time to herself inside the sauna space. We knew from that first visit that this was more than a transaction; it was a collaboration. The Process: Custom Fit for a Legacy Property From the beginning, the Baeumlers were clear about their priorities: Aesthetics that matched the clean, coastal-modern tone of their backyard space Performance that could handle the Florida climate without compromise A seamless installation process that respected the architecture of the estate We worked closely with Bryan and Sarah, evaluating layout options, finish details, and installation flow. After reviewing several models, the Superior Hydra Sauna became the natural choice. With its clean exterior lines, dual-bench layout, and covered space built for an outdoor shower or cold plunge, it offered both visual impact and everyday functionality. And most importantly, it felt like it belonged there. The Result: Elevated Wellness, at Home Today, the Baeumlers' backyard feels complete. The Superior Hydra sits poolside, surrounded by tropical foliage and warm stone, a bold architectural anchor that blends into the environment while offering a private space to unwind and reset. From our time on-site, it was clear the sauna had already become part of their lifestyle. Mornings spent in quiet. Evenings winding down. A natural rhythm of heat, cool, breathe, repeat. Sarah now uses it as part of her wellness routine. Bryan appreciates its durability, craftsmanship, and low-maintenance simplicity. And both of them have created something not just beautiful, but useful, every day. Why They Chose Muskoka Bryan and Sarah didn't want something trendy. They wanted something timeless. Something that would still feel right ten years from now. And that's exactly what we build for. As Bryan put it: "This wasn't about trends, it was about quality that would last. We didn't want something that needed updating in a few years." We couldn't have said it better. Final Thoughts: More Than a Sauna For us, this project wasn't just about placing a sauna in a beautiful space. It was about shared values, about connecting with people who care deeply about the spaces they create. It was about two teams, homegrown, Canadian, hard-working, coming together to build something meaningful. We're proud to be a Baeumler Preferred Partner, and we're honored that the Baeumlers' trusted The Muskoka Sauna Co. for their home. Explore The Superior Hydra Sauna
